What is the Scholarship Assistance Program?

The Scholarship Assistance Program provides financial assistance to individuals who are employed in Connecticut early care and education programs and meet the following eligible priorities who wish to pursue early childhood training and coursework that leads to a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, higher education degrees in Early Care and Education or training needed to improve a child care business.

Scholarship Assistance is provided only by lottery. 

The goal of the Scholarship Assistance Program is to help individuals who work in Connecticut early care and education programs increase their knowledge and skills OR advance on the Connecticut Charts-A-Course Career Ladder.
 

What are Scholarship Assistance Program 2011-2012 Eligibility Priorities

Priority 1:

Staff, regardless of title, that work in a CCAC Accreditation Facilitation Project (AFP) "selected site" and need to meet the qualifications of the National Association for the Education of the Young Children (NAEYC) for program accreditation

Priority 2:

Staff, regardless of title, who work in any of the following Connecticut settings licensed by the Department of Public Health serving infant, toddler, preschool or school age children:

  • Child care programs
  • Group day care homes
  • Family day care home providers or assistants
